Maryland Slips in Biotech Race

Many leaders in the technology businesses, especially the life sciences, are concerned about the progress Maryland is making in the biotechnology sector. The state dropped to a No. 4 ranking as a biotech area last year in a report by the accounting firm Ernst & Young. Among the signs of progress cited are the UM BioPark and a reported announcement from the state about a revitalization plan in the neighborhood surrounding the BioPark.
