UMB President Says Research Park On TrackBaltimore Business Journal The University of Maryland, Baltimore is moving ahead with plans to build a biotechnology park just west of its downtown campus. "The interest (from the business community) is there. The venture capital is there for projects that make good sense," says UMB president David J. Ramsay, DM, DPhil. Says James L. Hughes, MBA, vice president for research and development, "The idea is to keep discovery in Baltimore. We have had about three dozen companies come out of UMB, but most of them have gone elsewhere." |
