Dr. Gammie and his research team invented a device that may enable heart valves to be repaired without opening the chest or stopping the heart. The licensed technology led to the founding in July 2013 of Harpoon Medical, Inc., which already has won $300,000 in competitive grants. Dr. Gammie will deliver a presentation of his work.
