The InvestMaryland Challenge is a national seed and early-stage business competition hosted by the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. The Challenge will award $400,000 in grants and a host of business services to companies in the life sciences and high tech industries. Grants are provided by the Department's Maryland Venture Fund and BioMaryland Center. All categories are open to Maryland, U.S. And International companies.

Companies also have the opportunity to receive direct investments from venture capital firms and angel investors.

Application Deadline

All applicants to the InvestMaryland Challenge must complete a comprehensive online application. The application includes a company profile, executive summary quad chart and business plan. Applicants have from September 16 until December 12, 2014 to complete the application and pay the non-refundable application fee.

Applications that are not at least 90% complete on the final submission date (December 12, 2014) will not be scored.
