Although more attention has been focused on the health needs of the developing world through the activities of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and other similar organizations, many challenges remain ahead. To be successful in this endeavor requires the collaboration of innovative biotechnology companies with therapeutic and diagnostic development expertise, academic researchers to elucidate novel biochemical and molecular pathways within disease states, and the financial support to bring new treatments to affected populations.

This BioBreakfast program will feature a panel of academic experts from the University of Maryland School of Medicine whose dedicated research efforts are showing promise in many parts of the world. Joining these researchers are business executives who will discuss their innovative programs and technologies aimed at treating some of the most devastating diseases in the developing world today. The MdBio Division of the Tech Council of Maryland invites you to register now to learn about these important efforts.
