The University of Maryland, Baltimore Health Sciences Research Park Corp. isn't only building to meet Baltimore's present biotech needs, but it's also planning for the future.
The nonprofit foundation established to oversee the construction of the biopark development along Baltimore Street in west Baltimore has donated $30,000 to the Vivien T. Thomas Medical Arts Academy.
The Baltimore City school located near the UM BioPark focuses on teaching students about technology and health sciences fields. The school plans to use the money for new lab equipment.
