Fyodor wins TEDCO funding

TEDCO awards $150,000 in grants

The Maryland Technology Development Corp. and the Frederick County Office of Economic Development said Monday that the two agencies have chosen three more state companies as winners of $50,000 grants.

The Fort Detrick Technology Transfer Initiative awarded the following companies grants:

  • Fyodor Biotechnologies Inc. at the University of Maryland BioPark in Baltimore for its antibody-based urine test used to diagnosis malaria;
  • Oculearn LLC in Mount Airy for its VisiScreen, a technology used to assist victims of traumatic brain injuries;
  • Foxspire LLC in Frederick for its database system that tracks infectious diseases.

The TEDCO program at Fort Detrick has funded 26 companies with a total of $1.3 million since it began in March 2005
