Overview

UM Ventures commercializes the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s and University of Maryland, College Park’s breakthrough therapies, diagnostics and devices, fueling the creation of innovative start-up companies, and attracting industry leaders and entrepreneurs to the thriving campuses. 

The UM Ventures team works closely with University investigators to obtain intellectual property protection, increase research funding through industry partnerships, and accelerate new business ventures through activities such as the development of go-to-market strategies and business plans, forming management teams.
