The First Annual Cancer Biology Research Retreat

UMB Graduate Programs in Life Sciences

All Day

The Cancer Biology Research Retreat is a one day event open to all postdoctoral, and clinical research fellows, graduate students, young investigators and faculty involved in cancer research or research that can be related to cancer. This will be an opportunity to interact and share research ideas and techniques in an informal and relaxed environment. This event is supported by the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center and is an important component of our initiative to establish a new NCI funded T32 training program at UMB.

The program will include oral and poster presentations by fellows, graduate students, and faculty. In addition, the event will feature as the keynote speaker, Louis M. Weiner, MD, the Director of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University. Dr. Weiner is recognized for his laboratory and clinical research focusing on therapeutic approaches that mobilize the patient's immune system to fight cancer using monoclonal antibodies. His laboratory engineers 'biospecific' antibody based proteins with the aim of improving their tumor-targeting and immune-stimulating properties.
