Smaller biotechnology companies now have a shot at finding space in the University of Maryland, Baltimore's first BioPark building.
The developer, Townsend Capital, LLC, has announced a redesign for the fourth floor that can accomodate "emerging companies" looking for wet labs and office space between 2,500 and 10,000 square feet.
The bare bones shell space leases for $22 per square foot. The state offers an incentive package that provides up to $65 per square foot to outfit labs and offices. Nearly 70 percent of the building has been leased. Tenants are expected to start moving in as early as May.
